I am buried in work, ironically enough, trying to keep from having to do too much over the long weekend (because we have a room to paint in our apartment). So I am going to do a daring thing: What do you plan to watch, read, or do (other than eat things) over this long, strange holiday?
To borrow an oldie but goodie: Sound off in the comments!
I've entered the type of reading spree that happens for me once or twice a year - on the docket for the weekend/near future is Cuyahoga, The Glass Hotel, Days of Distraction, and Writers & Lovers to catch up with stuff from this year (read Interior Chinatown and the new DeLillo this past weekend). Movie wise I've gotta rewatch Martha Marcy May Marlene and firstwatch The Nest for my podcast, and then I've been thinking about going through Francis Ford Coppola's 80s. Also owe my room a cleaning.
I'm making the terrifying tall smitten kitchen apple pie for the first time! https://smittenkitchen.com/2018/10/even-more-perfect-apple-pie/
And I'm kind of hoping to watch First Cow. But I'll definitely be introducing Beatrice to the National Dog Show.
